49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
...I can, and I have before, but I'm not especially good at it, and especially not for long periods of time. If I'm deceptive and successful at it, it's more because I'm expressing genuine emotions and thoughts and attributing them to different motivations. I rest easier when I'm being honest.

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Optimistic. I should think it's obvious.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
My mother taught me manners and most of the things a lady should know. My bodyguard Manji taught me survival skills and fighting skills, and lots of other practical stuff. I found manuscripts to teach me to make poisons and antidotes.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
The same way I spend most other nights... reading, wandering the castle, training, riding Tadaharu.

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
...My fourteenth birthday.

Indecisiveness.

Manji could always make me laugh just by being himself.
That, or watching something go just the way I'd wanted it to. That prompts a kind of laughter, at least...

Failure at a pivotal moment.

3. Who are/were your parents?
My parents were both reasonably good and progressive people. Some father would still kill their daughters to focus on their sons, even after I was born; my father didn't. This is especially significant, I guess, in light of the fact that he was head of the Mutenichi-ryu sword school, and it would be best, probably, for him to have a son to inherit. Nevertheless, they kept me, and he kept my wife, even as I grew older and she didn't have any other children. If he had a mistress, we didn't know about it, which is much kinder than it sounds.

My mother kept mostly to the house, of course, doing things appropriate to her station and life and teaching me how to behave. She was gentle and patient with me even when I was prone to daydreaming. She was always a very clear woman, brave and loyal to my father, and when she spoke it had a way of reaching right to the heart of an issue. They were very well-matched.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I guess... I can plan. And, uh, I'm told I have a refreshing personality...

Ha... ha ha ha.

Like - kids? I don't have any kids! I'm just sixteen!
My family is all... people who're important to me, I guess. Me and Manji. Hyakurin, too... some of the friends I've made here.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I plan sometimes, but things go haywire a lot, so I end up winging it a good amount of the time too.

Errr... well, I'm small, slender, I guess, and I wear my hair in two braids most of the time... I guess that's the most distinct thing. Also I clip metal rings to the ends of my braids and carry stuff around in those. Poison and antidote, you know? I have dark eyes and usually I wear a red robe with a pattern of blue flames around the hems... I don't know. I'm nothing too remarkable, I guess.

83. What are your pet peeves?
Stupid, shitty samurai who draw their swords for the most worthless reasons. Being told I wouldn't understand stuff without the person explaining even bothering to try. Feeling stupid. Anotsu Kagehisa.

Playing in the yard in the dust, and my mother... she...

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?
I don't exactly keep it a secret, but I don't blab to just anybody either... I'm an avenger, I guess. Since my parents were killed I've been out after the person who ordered their murder, and the men who did it. At least, that was how it all started, but things got a lot more complicated somehow...

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Umm, I guess I like it! It's not like it's bad, and sometimes it's nice to be in all that energy. I like a mix of both, I guess.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Mmm, well, it depends on the day... At Paradisa, Itachi-san trains me in swordwork on Monday and Wednesday mornings, generally. Sometimes after that I persuade him to have tea or to go into town with me, and for the rest of the week, I'm mostly on my own; I think I'm going to find more teachers for different interesting things. Jun has promised to teach me fistfighting, which seems interesting, and I've promised to teach her some swordwork.
Anyway, if Itachi is training me that day, afterward I will go to make lunch if I do not go out, which I don't do that often. After lunch, I usually take Tad for a long run, and then turn him loose to go and read for a while. I make dinner, or Isaku does... I end up eating with Doa and Isaku a lot, no matter who cooks. I might find a place to do some training of my own, or if it's too dark or I don't feel like it, I'll read books or read the journal.
I don't mind my routine being broken up, at least not if it's with something interesting.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Schooling... uh, I learned the things a lady needs to know from my mother, mostly. If you mean maths and history and stuff... not much...

...This is a forward question.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
I'd read, I guess. Or take Tad out for a moonlight run. Or sharpen and clean all my knives.

Hyakurin made me try opium once... but, um, I kind of choked. And Shira made me try sake, but I don't really like it.
