[It's been a while since he and Rin have simply hung out. Mahdi's been giving him cooking lessons; the last, at Jack's request, was how to bake cookies. His own turned out rather . . . well, they weren't that great. So the ones Jack's carrying on a plate are actually Mahdi's, and thus far more delicious.
He knocks at her door twice before opening it and ducking his head in.]
[She glances down at the plate and then takes a cookie and smiles at him. Sweets are always a way to butter Rin up; she has a real weakness for chocolate.]
Oh yeah? Good for you, Jack. [She nibbles at a corner and then nods appreciatively.] Thanks!
Yeah. Of course, Jack. [A pause. She's thinking of, oh, before: him and Alice. Him and Sirius. He loved them and he doesn't even know he should miss them. He never met them to miss them.]
