August 13, 2011, 10AM - 6PM (or before sirens) at [Location here, with directions. ]

Guests welcome, no formal attire required; come as you are.

[Somewhat puzzled by the invitation, Rin does recognize the name Hattie but wonders what this might be all about. She takes some time to hunt up NV contact numbers and eventually sends a message.]

Pardon me, this is one of the ladies who sent the invitation, aren't you?

That's right. I'm Ella, of Frell. What can I do for you?

I'm Rin. I got your invitation.

What is going to happen at the gathering?

[ A confused pause, before the response comes this time. ]

Nothing more than socializing among others in the city. Of course we'll be providing food and drink. My stepsister had a pleasant conversation with you I'm told, and she requested that I invite you.

You're stepsisters? What does that mean? [divorce, remarriage, new kids, wat]

Her mother married my father.

And you have a cordial relationship with her?

We get along, yeah. [ When Ella does what Hattie wants. ] Why?

Mostly, when there are children with different women, by the same father like that at home, then they don't know each other.

[ A longer pause. ]

My mother passed away when I was little. Hattie and I aren't related by blood.

I'm very sorry. [Rin does know the pain of losing a parent, after all - both parents.]

So, your father is only her father by the marriage bond.

Yeah. I haven't known her particularly long, so it was a surprise to see her here.
